We will also strip and recover rolls from other roll manufacterers with our newest roll pattern design for $2500 per set plus freight. However I feel it is very important to tell you a short story about why I don’t recommend this short cut.
Fifteen years ago we stripped and applied rubber to the cores made by the manufacturers of our Swathers.
We messed around with this for a season and finally got a roll pattern that was working. At this time we were still using the manufacturers spring-loaded torque arm tensioning system. When we tried to apply the amount of pressure needed to achieve full conditioning, we started breaking the torque arms. We tried many things before settling on(and patenting) the air bag system. Well now we had all the pressure we needed.
Tragedy stuck again! The conditioning systems had about 1700 acres each on them. The pipe used to make the roll cores started to split right along the welded seam. This happened to both machines on exactly the same day. I will not bore you with the details but we spent the next year learning a tremendous amount about linear pressure combined with vibration as well as impact and harmonic balancing etc… That is now why we build our own cores using very expensive seamless D.O.M. TUBING!
Now if you still want a cheaper version of the Super Conditioner,
built buy the guys that gained the experience through hard knocks in the field, we would be very happy to oblige you. No warranty on the roll cores of course!!! We will, however, warrantee the rubber for one year.
It has been my personal experience that sometimes a knock off can replace the real deal. However, in this case I am positive it will still take some time for newcomers to learn all the lessons including the ones I have left out of my story.
Any questions? I welcome the phone calls.
